The effect of salt stress was studied on sodium and potassium concentration in root and shoot of two soybean cultivars viz., PK-472 and Alankar. PK-472 appeared to be tolerant to salt imposition on the basis of N and K acumulation. It is suggested that the uptake and transport properties associated with tolerance may be useful in breeding for salt tolerance.
