Low light intensity (50% normal) artificially created in the field from 40 days after planting till harvest reduced the average grain yield of rice crop by 21 per cent mostly through decreased number of panicles and grains per m2. Among 16 entries, IET 9366, IET 9360 and IET 9354 were found less susceptible to low light stress with good yield potential.
