Amelioration of the effects of natural ageing was studied in onion (Allium cepa L. cv. Selection-13) seeds. Priming for 48hr particularly at a critical state of deterioration reduced the leakage of electrolytes, UV absorbing substances and potassium into imbibition medium and increased seed vigour and viability.
