Abstract

Conditions have been described for in vitro culturing of tissues from the seeds of Cumin (Cuminum cyminum L.). Culturing on MS medium, deleting 2,4-D and supplementation with IAA, NAA and Kn, led to differentiating cultures. Cuminaldehyde was observed to be one of the flavour components. Differentiation of the cultures led to increased formation of cuminaldehyde.
