Abstract

Thirty days old seedlings of Jaya at transplanting were more sensitive (less survival) than older ones even at pH 9.5 whereas such differences were noted at pH 10.0 for CSR-1 The increase in Na content of the shoot was more in Jaya while K decreased with increasing sodicity stress. Younger seedlings accumulated Na faster in the shoot leading to higher mortality compared to older seedlings.
