Abstract

Succinate dehydrogenase (SDH), peroxidase and ascorbic acid oxidase activities were determined in the pollen collected from maize plants raised under NaCl salinity. SDH and peroxidase activity were higher in the ungerminated pollen collected from plants raised under 80-160 meq 1-1 salinity than control which further increased after 45 min of incubation in the liquid germination medium. Ascorbic acid oxidase, on the other hand showed a reverse trend.
