A field experiment was conducted during post rainy seasons of 1985–86 and 1986–87 to study the effect of poly and orthopbosphates and fertility levels on growth of two cultivars of chickpea. Results indicated that amm. polyphosphate and DAP were equally effective on the crop growth, relative growth rate, growth efficiency and dry matter per plant. However, the seed yield was significantly higher with amm. polyphosphate. IFFCO-complex was the least responsive for enhancement of the growth.
