Measurement of ion leakage as a screening technique for drought resistance in wheat genotypes

Ion leakage was measured in four drought susceptible and four tolerant wheat varieties. This measurement was found relatively a simple technique for screening large number of genotypes under field conditions. The inter-relationship of ion leakage with drought susceptibility index (DSI), plant height stress index (PHSI) and dry matter stress index (DMSI) is discussed.
