The control of cashew (Anacardium occidental L.) grafts growth in nursery was achieved using PP. 333 Pacobutrazol ((2 RS, 3 RS)-1-(4-ehlorophenyl)-4,4- dimethyl-2-(1,2 4-triavol-1-yl) pentan-3-ol). The chemical was used as soil drench, foliar spray and stem swabbing to the grafts of cashew (variety RLA 139-L). Application of 50 ppm as soil drench could restrict vegetative growth upto six months. Tap root growth was reduced and lateral root growth increased to a great extent. Treated grafts, when planted in field showed normal growth after three months.
