Abstract

Experiments with sugarcane (var. B.O. 91) callus showed high correlations between the fresh weight and the corresponding volume. Use of callus diameter (D2) and height (H) dimensions showed high correlation coefficients (0.94 to 0.95) for hemisphere and oblatespheroid shape callus, indicating volume as a viable parameter for non-destructive estimation of callus growth.
