Abstract

Callus cultures were initiated from vegetative bud explants of Kaempferia galanga on MS medium supplemented with 2, 4-diehlorophenoxy acetic acid (2.4-D) and 6-benzvl amino purine (BAP). The morphogenetic potential of this callus was examined in response to various phytohormonal combinations. Of the different hormonal combinations tested, maximum regenerative capacity was exhibited with 1.5 mg/1 BAP and 1 mg/1 NAA. The in vitro grown plantlets were successfully established in the field.
