A field experiment was conducted on light textured sandy loam soil in 1982 and 1983 on chickpea with three levels of phosphorus (30, 60 and 90 kg P2O5/ha) and three levels of sulphur (40, 80 and 120 kg S/ha) with separate control. The N, Ca and Mg contents increased significantly in nodules, plants (at flowering), grain and straw (at harvest) upto 60 kg P2O5/ha and 80 kg S/ha but N, Ca and Mg content decreased at 90 kg P2O5 and 120 kg S/ha. Similar trend was found on the uptake of N by grain and straw and Ca and Mg by grain of chickpea.
