Abstract

Chickpea treated with fluchloralta (0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 kg/ha), metribuzin (0, 25, 0.50 and 0.75 kg/ha) and pendimethalin (0.75, 1.0 and 1.25 kg/ha) showed that herbicides either reduced the growth of shoots and roots or there was no effect. Nodulation was not adversely affected by lower doses of herbicides and there was significant increase in leghajmoglobin content of nodules. Nitrogen fixation activity of nodules in treated plants was more upto 60 DAS.
