The effects of Cadmium sulphate spray (3CdSO4. 8 H2O) on chlorophyll content, Hill activity and chlorophyllase activity in leaves of mungbean [(Vigna radiata L. (Wilczek)] plants were examined. Plants were treated with 40, 60, 80 and 100 μM salt solutions. Chlorophyll content and Hill activity were inhibited but chlorophyllase activity was promoted. The toxic effect of cadmium on chlorophyll content was overcome by kinetin.
