Foliar application of 2, 4-D on cotton cultivars, at 1, 5, 25 and 50 ppm concentrations at early growth stage showed the formation of abnotmal leaves, reduction in total dry matter accumulation and distribution, crop growth rate (CGR) and leaf area index (LAI). Treatment combinations with calcium carbonate (1.5%) or Gibberellic acid (50 ppm) with 2, 4*D showed signilcant recovery in total dry matter accumulation upto a 2, 4-D injury level of 5 ppm.
