Abstract

Oil and glucosinolate contents in 65 varieties of rapeseed-mustard were estimated. The results indicated many varieties have high oil content, (more than 40 per cent) and low glucosinolate content (below score of ++). Among varieties cv. Varuna was found to be most useful while most PR varieties had high oil content and the lowest glucosinolate content Many varieties particularly, RH, RK and DIRA had low oil content, mostly in the range of 3S-38 per cent and high glucosinolate content.
