The effects of Cr on vegetative growth, dry matter and reproductive yield of maize was investigated in sand culture. Chromium application in general affected the vegetative growth. Both dry matter and yield were significantly decreased. The reduction being significant at higher levels of Cr application especially at advanced growth. Seed formation was completely inhibited by 0.25, 0.5 and 1.0 mMCr.
