A comparision of harvest index has been made with dry matter production, leaf area development and of enzymes RUBP carboxylase. Nitrate reductase and Glycolate oxidase in -barley genotypes, grown under pot culture at 30 kg N/ha and at non limiting moisture conditions. Among the genotypes studied, enzyme activities of top two leaves did not show clear association with harvest index.
