Abstract

Six genotypes of Arboreum and one of Hirsutum cotton differing in dry natter accumulation, thermosensitivity in relation to boll setting and yield were examined for their reproductive characteristics. These cultivars differed in the number of flowers/plant, anthers/flower, pollen/anther, pollen germination behaviour and sensitivities to incubation tempera-tares and number of ovules/pistil. The significance of pollen behaviour at different tempera-tures in relation to boll abscission is discussed.
