Diurnal movements in adaxial and abaxial stomata were observed in American cotton grown with high (40 mM) and low (4 mM) levels of nitrate. Opening and closing of a baxial stomata of cotton were more sensitive to diurnal changes in Photon flux density and temperature. Significant variations in diurnal opening and closing of adaxial and abaxial stomata were observed with nitrogen levels. Low nitrogen sensitized adaxial stomata.
