Abstract

It was observed that the stomatal frequency (SF) was more on abaxial leaf surface in drought tolerant wheat genotypes, whereas, the drought susceptible genotypes exhibited greater SF on adaxial leaf surface. The interveinal distance (TVD) was found to be less in drought tolerant genotypes than in drought susceptible ones. The grain yield was more in the genotypes having lower IVD and lower SF on adaxial leaf surface.
