Abstract

The effects of three growth regulators IAA, IBA and NAA on rooting in stolon cuttings of Glycyrrhiza glabra Linn, were studied under intermittent mist conditions. Growth regulators significantly promoted rooting. However, the response varied among the growth regulators and at various concentrations. Cuttings treated with NAA (0,5 mg 1−1) advanced the initiation of sprouting and Completion of rooting by 5.33 days and 9 days, respectively. IBA (0,5 mg 1−1) stimulated maximum percentage of sprouting, rooting and root growth and development. IBA (0.5 mg 1−1) also produced higher number of leaves per rooted cutting and exhibited higher percentage of survival of cuttings in the field.
