The CERES Rice model on testing under Punjab conditions, predicted the various phonological stages to be quite close to the observed for short duration rice varieties (PR-106 and PR-109). Comparing the yield and yield contributing characters with those of model's predictions, it was found that model's predictions varied from 10.9 to 8.34 to the observed yield.
