The effects of heat shock on seeds during early imbibition on sugar, starch and proline levels of mungbean (Vigna radiata L, Wilczek) seedlings were studied. Sugar and proline content were sharply increased whereas starch content gradually decreased by 40° C, 50°C as well as 60°C treatments.
