Abstract

Pre-sowing seed soaking treatments of different growth retardants namely cycocel (10 ppm), phosphon-D (50 ppm), maleic hydrazide (12.5 ppm) B-nine (20 ppm) to the bajra cv. HUB 60 increased hardiness than untreated ones. High temperature caused wilting in control plants, while treated plants remained turgid. Treatments with cycocel was most effective in improving the plant water status and yield.
