Aerial plant parts such as stem, leaf and flower and six-week old callus tissue (raised from seeds) of Saponaria vaccaria linn, were studied for their flavonoid content Kaempferol and quercetin were identified by tlc, mp and IR spectral studies and quantitative estimation of the identified flavonoids was done by spectrophotometry and reported.
