Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at different locations (Akola, Pantnagar, Jorhat, Rahuri, Kanke and Jhansi) to study the effect of weather condition (temperature, rainfall, relative humidity, and sushine hours) during crop growth period on seed production of forage cultivars (HFC 42-1, NP-3, IGFRI-450, IGFRI-975, IGFRI-978). Data on environment at these location trials revealed that heavy rainfall at pre-and post-anthesis period with poor sunshine hours and continuous high temperature affected the seed development Among all the location maximum seed production was at Pantnagar, Kanke and Akola, since at these locations crop received optimum weather conditions necessary for seed development process.
