Genotypic Variation in Photosynthesis and Yield Component in Rice

Genotypic differences in photosynthetic rate (42.8 to 29.3 mg CO₂ dm⁻²h⁻¹) were observed among 22rice cultivars in advanced yield trial. Genotypes, AYTI2448, AYTI2364, AYTI2343 and AYTI2488 recorded high rate of photosynthesis (40 mg CO₂ dm⁻²h⁻¹) at flowering stage. Photosynthetic rate showed a positive correlation with dry matter (r=0.643), yield (r=0.995) and HI (r=0.725).
