Abstract

An experiment was conducted with six rice cultivars during boro (winter) season to study the effect of seedling hardening on growth and yield of rice and their cold acclimation. Hardening resulted in the accumulation of sugar. Variety Culture 1 recorded higher amount of protein and sugar due to hardening when treated with 12% sucrose. Hardening also increased N.P. and K in tissue of variety Johaboro and Culture 1 and found associated with higher yield.
