The effect of varying concentrations of gibberellic acid (GA3), kinetin (KIN), naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA), Ethrel (ETH) and indolebutyric acid (IBA) was ascertained for seed germination and seedling growth of green gram and black gram through presoaking seed treatments. GA3 (10−5 M), KIN and NAA (10−6 M) showed the best results on seedling growth, fresh and dry weights in both crops.
