Abstract

Foliar application of dikegulac sodium (2, 3:4-6-di-O-isopropylidene-α-L-xylo-2-hexalofuranosate) had promotive effects on flowering fruit set and development of two cucurbits, Momordica charantia L. and Luffa acutangula Roxb., although exhibiting a differential dose response in the two cases. Dikegulac improved the quality of fruits also. During development the content of sugar of fruit was increased in both plants. The ascorbic acid content of the fruits was higher in Momordica.
