Cycloheximide (10 2M) caused a significant reduction in flower number in Pavonia and at the same concentration the weed Sida was killed. In Acalypha a reduction of 54% in Female and 72% in Male flowers was noticed. Gibberellic acid (10−6 M) was found more effective in reducing flower number in Pavonia and Sida. In Acalypha GA3 at a concentration of (10−2 M) caused reduction in female flowers to the extent of 40%. Maximum reduction in male flowers was caused at 10−4.
