Abstract

The effect of season, nitrogen and potassium on growth and yield of groundnut were investigated at Kalyani. Higher growth and yield were recorded in summer season than in kharif. Application of N and K significantly increased growth attributes like plant height, dry matter production, leaf area index, crop growth rate, leaf area duration, and yield components like pods plant−1, shelling (%), hundred kernel weight and oil content. Application of 40 kg N ha−1 increased pod, kernel and oil yields by 16.6, 18.8 and 24.7%, respectively, over no N application. Application of 45 kg K2O ha−1 increased pod, kernel and oil yields by 26.2, 31.5 and 37.4% over no K application. Interaction effects of season, nitrogen and potassium were not significant.
