Salinity caused cessation of growth in a moderately salt-sensitive variety of wheat. This was accompanied by a sharp decline in leaf water potential. With the passage of time partial recovery was observed in some of these parameters. However, leaf water potential, leaf diffusion resistance and transpiration values could not achieve the original values even after 9 days of salinization.
