Gladioli require 2–3 seasons of vegetative growth for definitive increments in their size and weight before flowering induction. The flowering behaviour and the final corm yields of 6 corm sizes (<lg-35g), being in different stages of developmental maturity, were studied in gladiolus cultivars ‘Happy End’ and ‘Apricot’. In both the varieties there was a direct correlation between corm size, flowering volume and the final corm yield.
