The deficiency of sulpur reduced the concentration of chlorophyll, sugars, starch and protein in cotton leaves. The activity of ribonuclease decreased and that of catalase, peroxidase, acid phosphatase and starch phosphorylase increased in sulphur deficient cotton leaves. The yield of cotton fibre and seeds were drastically reduced by low sulphur. As a result of sulphur deficiency the quality of cotton seeds deteriorated which was reflected in low content of oil, sugars, starch, proteins and high concentration of phenols.
