An experiment consisting of twelve cotton genotypes, viz., AK-235, A-82-1-1, Virnar, Jayadhar, DB-3-12, SM-88 Sharada, Sahana, LRA-5166, B-82-1-1, SB (YF) 425 and BCS-3-12 was conducted under rainfed conditions. The experiment was carried out to study the response of these genotypes for yield, rate of photosynthesis, light interception and relative water content under rainfed conditions. The genotype LRA-5166 showed highest rate of photosynthesis, light interception and seed cotton yield followed by Sharada and Sahana, where as SB (YF) 425 showed least rate of photosynthesis, light interception and seed cotton yield. The former genotypes also maintained more relative water content through out the growth period.
