Influence of benzyladenine application on yield and yield components in wheat genotypes under normal and late planting conditions

Abstract

Two wheat genotypes viz. PBW-226 and DL 1402-2 were grown under normal and late planting conditions and influence of Benzyladenine (BA) applications in mitigating yield losses studied. The reduction in grain yield under late planting was closely associated with reductions in the duration of phenophases. The BA applications increased the duration of phenophases and grain yield in both tolerant and susceptible types. The study also indicated that in tolerant genotype DL-1402-2, the productivity is higher due to high biomass production and better partitioning coefficient.
