Plant growth regulators, such as, IAA, GA3 and Ascorbic Acid (AA) at different concentrations (10 ppm, 25 ppm and 50 ppm) influenced the development of flowers in brinjal (Solanum melongena Linn.). Within the treatments it has been observed that 25 ppm and 50 ppm AA treated plants produced significant number of female flowers and same concentrations of IAA and GA3 produced significant number of male flowers. These results highlight the tendency, to alter the sex of brinjal flowers to femaleness and maleness by external application of AA, IAA and GA3.
