The fresh and partially aged seeds of maize hybrid BH 1001 possessing 90 and 75% germination respectively were halogenated with Kl and KCl. Halogenation especially with KCl @ 30 mg significantly decreased the days for 50% flowering and silking. Irrespective of type of seed, drydressing of halogenation with KCl showed a concomitant effect in influencing the absolute cob growth rate (ACGR), test weight and seed yield compared to untreated control. The effects of halogenation are more striking in partially aged seeds compared to fresh ones.
