Responses of zygotic embryos of Syzygium cuminii L. in culture and induction of somatic embryogenesis from pigmented callus

Immature zygotic embryos of Syzygium cuminii L. were cultured to obtain plantlets. Induction and elongation of roots was obtained on excised shoots. Callus with red and violet pigmentation could be induced at the base of excised juvenile shoots cultured horizontally. Formation of somatic embryos on the callus was observed.
