Fifteen mulberry (Morus sp.) genotypes were grouped/clustered based on various physiological and biochemical parameters in relation to genetic distance, so that these can be used appropriately in further breeding programmes. Selection indexing indicated that the genotype C1730 was superior in many of the traits examined. UPGMA dendrogram analysis could identify as many as five distinct groups, based on Mahalanobis genetic distance. Divergence analysis also identified that yield (37.14%), photosynthetic rate (32.38%), protein (22.86%) are the major parameters contributing towards divergence.
