Abstract

The days required for maturation of Alphonso, Kesar and Ratna fruits at Vengurle were 103.33, 110.33 and 118.00 days respectively, as against 80.0, 86.0 and 97.5 days at Rameshwar for above varieties respectively. The fruits of Alphonso, Kesar and Ratna mature 23.33, 24.33, 20.50 days earlier at Rameshwar than Vengurle respectively due to extra heat units by 1.96, 1.87 and 1.55 DD produced at Rameshwar respectively for above varieties. The total heat units required for maturation of fruits was more or less equal at both the locations and it varied in Alphonso, Kesar and Ratna as 752–803, 843–898, 932–977 DD respectively.
