An experiment was conducted to screen ten greengram genotypes for drought tolerance under depleting soil moistnre conditions during post rainy season. Relative water content of leaves (RWCL) and leaf area plant−1 decreased in all the genotypes under drought stress situations, whereas leaf proline content increased with drought stress. Seed yield decreased drastically in all the genotypes as the crop was subjected to progressive drought stress under receding soil moisture situation. Among the genotypes studied K 851, Pusa 9072 and LGG 407 performed well under drought stress conditions by maintaining leaf area, leaf relative water content and high proline, resulting less reduction in yield.
