Desirable traits for tropicalisation of wheat III. post-anthesis stem-reserve mobilisation – A new application of the in vivo nuclear magnetic resonance technique

Post-anthesis changes in NMR T₁, and moisture percentage in the stem of four wheat varieties (Raj-3765 PBW-65, UP 2338 and HD 2009 were examined under normal and one month and two month late sown conditions. Per cent moisture content and the NMR T₁ parameter of the wheat stem, reflected genotypic variability in post-anthesis stem reserve mobilisation, particularly, under one month late sown condition.
