An experiment was carried out with two species of Catharanthus (C. roseus and C. pusillus) to find out whether requirement of sink can alter the pattern of changes occurring during leaf senescence in terms of chlorophyll, reducing and non reducing sugars and Hill activity. It was found that the pattern of changes which take place during senescence are same though the magnitude of these changes are altered by altered requirement of sink.
