Post harvest changes affect the commercial viability of cut flowers. One of these changes is the fresh weight of the flower as influenced by its water balance. The cut flowers are placed in different preservative solutions namely sucrose, cobalt salts, calcium salts, citric acid, sodium benzoate and growth hormones and changes in fresh weight and water balance noted. Of all, cobalt nitrate gave good results.
