Effect of brassinolide on salinity stress induced inhibition of germination and seedling growth of rice (Oryza sativa L.) was studied. Brassinolide was found to reverse the inhibitory effect on germination and seedling growth. The activation of seedling growth by brassinolide under salinity stress was associated with enhanced levels of nucleic acids, soluble proteins and free proline.
