A study was undertaken in the rainy season (Aug.–Sept.) to identify suitable submergence tolerant mulberry varieties. Yield of leaf, chlorophyll and carotenoid contents, as well as, photosynthesis and its related parameters were affected in the mulberry genotypes when subjected to waterlogging. Out of 7 mulberry varieties (S1, S1635, K2, Jatinuni, Kolia-kotahi, Kolitha-3 and Maida local) studied, S1 and Kolitha-3 were found to be tolerant to waterlogging with insignificant reduction in the yield of leaf, photosynthetic rate and chlorophyll content.
