Impacts of herbicides in different concentrations were studied for amylose and protein content of rice grain in a field experiment at the experimental research station, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology, R.S. Pura, Jammu (India). Significant increase in the amylose content was observed due to herbicide application. compared to non-weedy check. Manual weeding, weed free check and herbicide applicaion greatly influenced the amylose concentration and increased its level by 25% and could be grouped as intermediate type. Similarly, protein content was also increased due to herbicide application compared to unweeded checks.
Anilofos, benthiocarb, butachlor, carbohydrate, nitrogen, Oryza sativa
